The No Picture Post

Well, we might be photo less for awhile, we have misplaced the battery charger for our camera and it is dead... Which means, I might actually have to start "blogging" in the true sense of the word. However, I am a little bit hesitant because my thoughts consist of, what to get Marcus to eat for lunch and how can I keep Seth entertained on the floor for one more minute while I finish the dishes (which never happens, the dishes end up not getting done). So, I better get some thoughts, and quick.
Actually, I do have a thought!
The first thing that came to my mind was Jon. I have been reading The Proper Care And Feeding of Husbands by: Dr. Laura for the 2nd time (I actually never finished it the 1st time) it has been a great reminder on how to give proper care and feeding to my husband (unfortunately, something I need from time to time). I have a wonderful husband who works hard everyday, and sometimes nights, to bless us with a beautiful home, food to eat, crafts & toys to keep us occupied and happy. He is a great help at home and with the kids and, I think the most important, I know he loves me. Dr. Laura gives three A's as a guide to what every man wants: acceptance, approval & affection. I can't think of a man who deserves it more... thanks Jon, I love you!

The Movie

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow...

and snow it did on Monday. We woke-up to a blizzard. Little did we know it had been snowing for hours and would keep on snowing for hours! All-in-all, we would say we got about a foot and a half of snow! That is the most snow we (the Bacon family) have ever seen in Utah county! You all know I am not a big fan of the cold weather and that I think snow has it's place...in the mountains. I have to admit this was rather exciting:) The snow coming down was beautiful and the fact that I didn't really have to go anywhere it was okay that I was snowed in my house! Jon didn't go into work, Marcus played in the snow for a couple of hours while Jon and Tim shoveled driveways and I sat inside and stayed warm drinking hot chocolate. Had I been really smart I would have sat on the couch and watched a movie. However, I did house chores and made food for the fam all day long. Today there are partially cloudy skies but there is a forecast of more snow in the future... not so sure how I feel about that!
(Hence the reason I put Hawaiian paper on my blog - we all could use thoughts of warmer weather.)

Dance Dance Revolution

Yes, Thank you Ike for reminding me...
Since all the kids were home for Christmas break my dad decided to buy an XBOX. While he bought plenty of games for the boys my sister made sure the girls were not left out he bought us Dance Dance Revolution. Unfortunately, I was the only one really into the game - you better all start getting in the mood for next time!! Luckily my cousins came over and we had a little Dance Off! Yes, my cousin Ike is a better dancer than I am, I'll admit it! I also think there were a few others who danced me up! Nevertheless, I was glad to have someone to dance with!
Thanks to all those amazing dancers out there and...I'll be back!

(My brother actually has a picture on his phone which I will have to get.)

Christmas Vacation

1.We got to meet our cousin Max for the first time. He is such a cutie, he is 4 months younger than Seth but weighs the same!  It was also great to see Natalie & Philip, we hadn't seen then in a year.
2. We ate out at our favorite Japanese Restaurant Kobes.
3. It took us forever to get anywhere with a 3 year old and 2 babies! Max & Seth were on different sleeping schedules...
4. The boys saw lots of movies.
5. We played baseball and golf outside. (Marcus played in the backyard, Jon got to play on the real course)
6. The boys got to see their great-grandparents. Great-Grandma & Grandpa Lake took us to O'Donnell golf course for lunch on afternoon. It's not a trip to Palm Springs without eating there. They also took Marcus to Jack in the Box for lunch one day.
7. We had Christmas Eve with the Lake family. We had yummy soups and Grandpa Lake read us the nativity story in Luke 2.
8. Christmas evening when we got home we had a surprise visitor! Santa came to see Marcus and ask him if he had been a good boy! Marcus was so intrigued by Santa, but he wasn't scared and even gave him a hug! Unfortunately Uncle Russell didn't get to see him...
9. Christmas morning was so fun. Marcus loved the Bike Santa brought for him and the living room was a mess with wrapping paper.!
10. We went into Orange county to visit the cousins. We had dinner and played games till the wee hours of the morning... Marcus had a ton of fun playing with the older kids. He even got to sleep in Spencer's bottom bunk bed - he thought that was really cool.
11. We went swimming in the Jaquzzi!!!
12. New Years was kinda a dud - I got really sick New Year's Eve day. That was the beginning of the end. I got sick, then better. Marcus got sick - with PINK EYE - I got sick again, Seth got a cold then PINK EYE then, I got PINK EYE!!!  We changed our flight home because everyone was so contagious and it was nice having my mom to help. Pink eye is horrible just in case you didn't know. There is medication for it but it is VERY contagious. Fortunately the pink eye is gone, we are doing a few days of extra eye drops just to make sure.
13. Friday we fly home.

What a vacation. Thank you mom & dad for a wonderful stay and taking such good care of me and my family!
We love you!
